Biography

Meet Helen

I am a physiotherapist and Pilates instructor with a special interest in movement rehabilitation. I have been working in the physiotherapy profession since 1996 and have spent the past 13 years supporting clients here at Courtyard Clinic in Dursley.
My background includes both human and veterinary physiotherapy, which gave me a unique understanding of movement, posture and recovery across different systems. Today, I work mainly with musculoskeletal clients, using a blend of JEMS clinical movement rehabilitation, manual therapy, breathing techniques and Pilates, to help people move with greater ease and confidence.
In 2012, I trained as an APPI Pilates instructor and now teach nine classes each week in Dursley and Wotton-under-Edge. In 2019, I trained and certified as a JEMS practitioner. JEMS clinical rehabilitation is a systematic physiotherapy approach that looks at how the whole body moves and considers factors such as stress and breathing as part of the recovery process. This method has helped me support clients not only through injury rehabilitation but also in building long-term movement quality and performance.
I enjoy working holistically and adapting my approach to suit each person’s goals. Whether someone is recovering from injury, managing persistent pain, or simply wants to move more freely, I aim to create a supportive and calm environment where progress feels achievable.
Outside of the clinic I enjoy horse riding, walking and gardening, alongside my busy family life.
Being part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team is something I value greatly. It keeps me learning, keeps my work varied and interesting, and ultimately helps me provide the very best care for my clients.
