Physiotherapist, Pilates Instructor and Concussion Management Practitioner
Biography

Meet Joanne

I am a physiotherapist and Pilates instructor with a particular interest in back pain, concussion and helping people move and recover with greater confidence. I have always been fascinated by the body and how it works, and that curiosity continues to inspire me every day.
My background is in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, and over the years I have worked with a wide range of people and conditions. I have completed training in acupuncture, concussion management and Pilates, which I now teach regularly at Courtyard Clinic in Dursley. My classes are focused and challenging, but always friendly. I believe movement should feel good, and I think a little humour goes a long way in helping people feel at ease.
In 2013, I had spinal surgery following a back injury, which gave me first-hand experience of the recovery process. It helped me understand what it means to live with pain and how important it is to feel supported along the way. That insight shapes how I care for others, particularly those living with persistent pain or anxiety around movement.
More recently, I have developed a growing interest in helping people manage symptoms following concussion. I am a certified practitioner with Complete Concussions and enjoy working with both adults and young people as they navigate their recovery.
I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of the Courtyard team in Dursley. It is a place where we genuinely care about our clients and each other, and where learning and laughter are part of every day.
