Maxine Mellerup
Physiotherapist and Pilates Instructor
Biography
Maxine Mellerup
I am a physiotherapist, massage therapist and certified Pilates instructor, and my approach is all about treating the whole person. I take time to understand each client’s lifestyle, stress levels and physical habits, knowing that all of these factors play a role in how the body feels and functions.
Pilates is a key part of my practice. I regularly teach classes at Courtyard Clinic in Dursley and often incorporate Pilates principles into physiotherapy sessions to help people move better, build strength and feel more confident in their bodies. Whether someone is recovering from injury or simply wanting to improve how they move day to day, I adapt each session to meet their individual needs.
Massage therapy also plays a big role in how I work. I have always had a natural feel for hands-on treatment. My dad used to say I had “eyes in my hands”, and I love hearing how much better people feel after a session.
My journey into this profession began with my own experience of scoliosis as a child. I spent a lot of time with physiotherapists, including here at Courtyard Clinic, and it left a lasting impression. It is a real privilege to now be part of the team, helping others feel more at home in their bodies.
