Biography

Meet Jo

Movement has always been part of who I am, from childhood sport and exercise to my career in physiotherapy. My work has given me a deep understanding of how the body works, and over time my focus has expanded to helping people reconnect with themselves through movement, education and coaching.
Teaching Pilates is still a big part of what I do. I love how it blends science and creativity, using anatomy and biomechanics in practical ways that help people improve strength, posture, flexibility and confidence. Whether it is supporting someone through rehabilitation, enhancing sports performance or improving day-to-day movement, I aim to make each session fun, effective and personally tailored.
My background in pain management has shaped my approach to recovery. Completing a Master’s degree in Pain Science in 2004 strengthened my belief that understanding your body and learning to trust it again is one of the most powerful tools for long-term wellbeing. While I now spend less time in day-to-day clinical practice, I continue to draw on my physiotherapy expertise to guide my work and support people in managing and overcoming both short-term and persistent pain.
Over the years, my interest in what helps people feel fulfilled, resilient and inspired led me to train as a life coach. This now sits alongside my other work, offering a space for people to reflect, gain clarity and move forward, whether they are feeling stuck, navigating change or simply wanting to live with more energy and purpose.
As Co-Director of Courtyard Clinic, I am proud to be part of a large, supportive and highly skilled team. We work closely together, share ideas and never stop learning, all with the shared goal of helping people achieve their best health and live life to the fullest.
