Meet Rich

I am a physiotherapist with a passion for helping people move better, recover from injury and enjoy their health to the fullest. My first introduction to physiotherapy came at a young age after injuring my Achilles tendon. The treatment and exercises I received made such a difference, and I was fascinated by the skill and knowledge of the physiotherapists I met. I spent many of my school holidays shadowing the team at Courtyard Clinic, and it was during those early years that I realised I wanted to become a physio myself.
It was not an easy path, and there were moments when it seemed out of reach. At school, I was once told I “wasn’t smart enough” to become a physiotherapist, which only made me more determined. I studied Sport and Exercise Science before going on to the University of Nottingham, where I graduated with a degree in physiotherapy. Returning to Gloucestershire, where I grew up, I began my career doing exactly what I had set my heart on.
I believe physiotherapy should be evidence-based, informed by the latest research and tailored to each individual. Education, trust and enjoyment are at the heart of my approach. I keep treatment plans simple but focused, whether that involves exercise, sport-specific training, TRX suspension training or manual therapy.
For me, physiotherapy is about seeing the whole person, not just the injured knee, shoulder or ankle in front of me. Physios are in a unique position to positively impact people’s health, confidence and overall wellbeing. Helping people make changes for the better, and seeing the difference it makes in their lives, is one of the many reasons I love what I do.
