Background
While following a career in design, I was inspired to become a physiotherapist after observing a Multiple Sclerosis rehabilitation in 1994 at The Bristol Royal Infirmary. It took several years to retrain, but with determination and support, I achieved my goal.
I started my professional career as a physiotherapy assistant at Bristol Royal Infirmary and progressed to studying at University of Wales College of Medicine (now known as University of Wales), qualifying as a physiotherapist in 2003. I moved to Swindon shortly after beginning my first physiotherapy job at The Great Western Hospital Foundation Trust in Swindon in 2004. I then spent 20 years at Swindon, the last 13 of which I specialised in Women’s and Pelvic health. In 2017 life brought me to Gloucestershire and after 6 years commuting on the A417, in 2024, I decided to seek work closer to home.
As a specialist in Women’s and Pelvic Health I was welcomed into the Courtyard Clinic in December 2024. I currently assess and treat ante- and post-natal patients, pelvic girdle pain in pregnancy, postnatal rehabilitation and bladder and bowel dysfunction. I believe all clients deserve time to unravel sensitive issues and the importance of active listening is paramount. I respond by offering a caring, problem-solving approach in order to rehabilitate and assist the individual to become the best version of themselves.
Alongside work, I have invested time in personal study into nutrition, menopause and exercise to navigate the health-life journey to develop my holistic approach. Away from work, I spend time enjoying country walks with my husband. I also regularly revisit my creative past by song-writing, inspired by personal life events, and I record my songs and add videos to the music whenever the opportunity arises.
