Podiatrist
Biography

Meet Rob

I am a biomechanical specialist and clinical podiatrist, passionate about helping people move more comfortably and prevent injury through a deeper understanding of how the feet influence the rest of the body. Podiatry involves diagnosing, treating and managing foot and ankle conditions, with treatments ranging from managing a simple verruca to performing corrective bunion surgery. Some podiatrists, like me, specialise in biomechanics — studying how the feet interact with the joints and muscles above them to affect the whole body.
I work closely with physiotherapists, orthopaedic surgeons, chiropractors and osteopaths to treat a wide range of issues, including knee, hip and lower back pain. Our feet are our foundation, and their position and movement can influence everything from posture to joint alignment. My treatments may include orthotics, manipulation, exercise and rehabilitation, often as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach.
My journey into podiatry began in Canada, where I combined my science and mechanical background with a fascination for medicine’s practical, hands-on side. Qualifying as a biomechanical musculoskeletal podiatrist has taken me across the UK, Ireland, the USA and Canada to practise and lecture. I am now also involved in academia, sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for biomechanics with the next generation of podiatrists.
Outside the clinic, my greatest passion is spending time with my children. Even though we do not all live together, the moments we share are energetic, joyful and deeply fulfilling.
I feel fortunate to be part of the talented, diverse team at Courtyard Clinic in Dursley. The variety of expertise and shared commitment to patient care makes it a fantastic place to work and an equally special place for patients to receive treatment.
