Soft Tissue Therapy

Background

As a second career, Soft Tissue Therapy constantly challenges and engages me in ways I thoroughly enjoy.  After graduating with a degree in Natural Sciences and a decade in technical sales & business management, I decided to have an early mid-life crisis.  Diagnosis of depression and anxiety forced me to completely reevaluate my aspirations and, supported by a physiotherapist wife who absolutely adores her job, I took my fascination with the human body into this amazing role I have now.

A passionate advocate of evidence informed practice – taking the best scientific understanding and tailoring it to the individual client – I have developed a special interest in complex and persistent pain conditions, being lucky enough to have worked with some incredible individuals through Help For Heroes and The Invictus athletes training camps.  I am very fortunate to now speak at professional conferences, host an industry-focused educational podcast, and am a partner & tutor in one of the top training schools in the UK.  I continue my learning by spending quality time with my clients, completing my studies for my MSc in Neuroscience, and interacting with subject matter experts globally.  Combining my own mental health experiences with the latest research into painful conditions that just don’t seem to resolve allows me to work with my clients in a true partnership – facilitating their long-term recovery, rather than simply providing quick fixes.

Outside of work I love spending time with my family in the great outdoors – my wife, two toddlers, our dog and fresh air!  In my own time I train for and run ultra marathon distances, combining running training with strength training.  As a result I love working with endurance athletes, in particular older athletes who are wanting to improve performance and reduce injury risk.  Combining hands-on massage based treatments with strength & conditioning based rehabilitation, I can help you pursue your personal goals whilst feeling awesome!
