Join us this autumn for Ashtanga Yoga classes for men and women focusing on strength and flexibility of body and mind.
Ashtanga yoga is based on a sequence of six series of various asanas (breathing, sun salutations, standing postures, warrior sequence, sitting postures, and finishing sequence) that become more challenging as you progress through the series, gaining and improving your physical abilities week on week. Mental strength is also gained with the use of breathing techniques that require you to switch off internal chatter and apply your full attention to the practice.
This dynamic, flowing form of yoga can complement other forms of exercise by building strength particularly in the core, legs and shoulders but also an increased mental strength and body awareness that can help with other sports and physical activities. Knowing your body can help you move with ease and efficiency, improving endurance and performance.
